MARSH APPOINTS ROBERT GEFERS AS A MANAGING DIRECTOR AND SENIOR DOWNSTREAM BROKER IN HOUSTON
Houston, October 6, 2009 — Marsh, the world's leading insurance broker and risk advisor, today announced the appointment of Robert Gefers as a managing director and senior downstream broker in the firm's Global Energy Practice.
Mr. Gefers, who will be based in Marsh's Houston office, has more than 25 years of experience in energy insurance and risk management.
He joins Marsh from Willis where he was a senior vice president in the Houston office. He has also held leadership positions in energy at Aon, the Lloyd's of London Agnew Syndicate, Wellington, American International Group (AIG), and Cigna Worldwide.
Mr. Gefers began his insurance career with AIG, and rose to become underwriting manager for energy, including oil and petrochemical, utilities, mining, offshore energy and construction. He earned a bachelor's degree in Economics from Fordham University.
